Archive for the “Advertising” Category
Regardless of how you look at it, the most important aspect of any successful mail order business is its advertising. In fact, mail order success is wholly dependent, and even predicated upon good advertising.
First of all, you’ve got to have a dynamic, spectacular ad that attracts the eye and grabs the interest of the people you’re trying to sell to. Thus, unless your ad really “jumps out” at the reader, your sales won’t live up to expectations, and your ad money will be wasted.
The eye-catching appeal of your ad must start with the headline. Use the headline to very quickly create a picture in the minds of the reader–a vision of all their problems being solved, and attainment of the kind of happiness they seek.
If your headline fails to catch the attention of your prospect, you cannot hope to capture him with the remaining of the ad, because it will go unread! So in writing your advertisement for must a little while, so you must quickly interest him in your offer, show him how he can get what he wants, and then cause him to send immediately for your “solution” to his problems. Your copy must exude enthusiasm, excitement, and a positive attitude. Don’t be afraid to use a hard-sell approach! Say what you feel and believe about your offer. And use common, “everyday,” but correct English.
Even so, you can and must remember to be honest. Don’t exaggerate or make claims you can’t back up. Never make promises you cannot or don’t expect, to keep. To do so could get you in trouble with the Federal Trade and Fair Practices people.
Stress the benefits of your product or service. Explain to your reader how owning a copy of your book (for instance), or receiving your services will make his life richer, happier, and more abundant. Don’t get involved in detailing all the money you’ve spent developing the product or researching the information you’re selling, or you’re selling, or your credentials for offering it. Stress the “sizzle” and the value of
ownership.
It is important to involve the reader as often as possible through the use of the word “you.” Write your copy just as if you were speaking to and attempting to sell just ONE person. Don’t let your ad sound as a speaker at a podium addressing a huge stadium filled with people, but as if there were just one individual
“listening.”
And don’t try to be overly clever, brilliant or humerus in your advertising. Keep your copy simple, to the point, and on target toward selling your prospect the product or service because of its benefits. In other words, keep it simple, but clear; at all costs, you don’t want to confuse the reader. Just tell him exactly what he’ll get for his money; the benefits he’ll receive; how to go about ordering it. You don’t have to get too friendly. In fact, becoming “folksy,” and don’t use slang expressions.
In writing an ad, think of yourself as a door-to-door salesperson. You have to get the attention of the prospect quickly, interest him in the product you’re selling, create a desire to enjoy its benefits, and you can then close the sale.
Copywriting, whether for a display ad, classified ad, sales letter or brochure, is a learned skill. It is one anyone can master with a bit of study, practice, and perhaps some professional guidance.
Your first move, then, is to study your competition, recognize how they are selling their wares. Practice rewriting their ads from a different point of view or from a different sales angle. Keep a file of ads you’ve clipped from different publications in a file of ad writing ideas. But don’t copy anyone else’s work; just use the ad material of others to stimulate your own creativeness.
Some of the “unknown facts” about advertising–and ad writing in particular–tell us that you cannot ask for more than $3 in a short classified type ad. Generally speaking, a $5 item will take at least a one-inch display ad. If you’re trying to sell a $10 item, you’ll need at least a quarter page–perhaps even a half page of copy–and $15 to $20 items require a full page. If you are selling a really big ticket item (costing $50 or more) you’ll need a four-page sales letter, a brochure, separate order coupon, and return reply envelope.
If you’re making offers via direct mail, it’s best to get into the postal system with it on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, to be sure it does not arrive on Monday, the first and busiest day of the week. And again, unless you’re promoting a big ticket item, the quality or color of your paper won’t have any great effect on the response you’ll get, but the quality of your PRINTING definitely will, so bear this in mind when you place your printing order.
One final point to remember: The summer months when people are most apt to be away on vacation are usually not good months for direct mail. But they ARE good for opportunity and advertisements in publications often found in vacation areas, and in motels and hotels.
Again, it cannot be stressed too much or often: Success in mail order does, indeed, depend upon advertising, and as with anything else, quality pays off in the long run. Read this report again; study it; let it sink in. Then apply the principles outlined in it. They have worked for others, and THEY CAN WORK FOR YOU! If you’re looking to do this, I would recommend spending a few of you’re hard earned dollars on more research and the skills needed to make this work for you over and over again. One resource I would definitely suggest is: http://www.instantsalesletters.com/?52470.

This is so good I copied it word-for-word from a partner of mine. It describes a simple method that strips out all the complications when it comes to making money online…
The good thing is, I can verify this system really works. I do this myself and have been teaching similar methods to my team for over 4 years now. But now it’s your turn..
I have been involved with IM since August 16th of 2002. Since January I have made no less than 2 thousand a month and as much as 17 thousand (in one month).
Currently, I am marketing to 3 different niches and follow the same plan for each one. I challenge anyone who is not making money to follow any type of organized plan of attack and not make money. It is impossible.
Here is what I do step by step. I will follow this by what I feel that I could have done in the beginning and would probably be making twice the money monthly. I just could not see the big picture.
1. Niche Research - This takes me all of 5 minutes. I go to clickbank and see what everyone else is selling (meaning a product with a high gravity and a good sales page.)
2. Keyword Research - Again, initially this takes me all of 5 minutes. Because my main traffic generation is article marketing i go to google and see what keywords are ranking high within article directories. Those are the ones I focus on while trying to target long tails.
3. I set up a Squidoo lens as my landing page. I also set up a hub page, a blog at blogger, and a free wordpress blog. I set and forget my squidoo lens but update my blogger blog, hub, and WP blog every other day or so. I link everything back to my Lens.
4. Write a minimum of 3 articles everyday for each niche.
5. Submit my Lens to 10 free directories a day to build my link popularity.
That is the exact process I follow and consistently get sales each and every day. By no means am I making a killing but, I am able to pay my house note and all of my utilities every single month which, is more than I thought I was going to be able to do. With the limited success I have had though, I do see IM as a way to replace my entire income and hopefully, be able to work at it full time.
I could be making so much more though but, admittedly I am a bit of a hard nose and frequently do not look at the big picture. Here is what I wished I would have done from the beginning.
1. Got my own hosting and domains. The reason for this is pretty simple. In addition to it being “mine” I could easily have had an asset that I could have sold at some point for a nice profit if I decided my time would be better spent in another niche. As it stands now I have nothing to show for all of the link building and SEO I have done. (best choice: Hostmonster
2. List building - Each of my three niches get at least 3000 visitors a month. By now, I could have had one heck of a list to market to. How sweet would it be to be able to be able to send an item once a week to these people? I lost a lot of money here.
3. Outsourcing - Again, this is a hard nosed moment for me. I wish I would have taken half of my profit and paid to have articles written and submitted for me. In the short haul it would have cut into my play money but, by now I have a feeling it would have paid me major dividends.
ANYONE can make money doing this. As a matter of a fact, a guy I work with asked me what the hell I am always doing on my laptop and I told him. He said he wanted to give it a shot so I gave him the same outline above and showed him where everything was. He has made 4 sales already in a matter of 6 days and is excited as you could be.

One of the hardest things in online marketing is probably to get your online business of the ground and let it run on autopilot. Although I’ve done it before, it is still a big challenge for me whenever I start a new website.
Today, I’m going to show you how a new website put a simple twist to an old concept and achieve extraordinary results in less than 3 months.
The website that I’m talking about is Qassia.com.
Qassia is a new website started in January 2008. But today, it ranks 4,762 in Alexa ranking and has more than 4000 webpages listed in Google.
So what is Qassia?
Why are people crazy about it?
More importantly, what are the marketing mechanisms that are making people crazy about it?
Let’s see……
If I were to break down Qassia into its simplest form, Qassia is nothing more than a combination of an article directory and a link directory. (For newbies, some examples of article directories are ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com, and some examples of link directories are DMOZ and Yahoo!Directory.)
If you were to start another article directory or link directory, chances are you are going to fail because the idea is no longer novel and there are thousands of them out there.
Think about this: If you were to start an article directory, how are you going to find thousands of people to submit articles to your directory, especially when you are just starting.
But Qassia has done it. Qassia is hardly 3 months old, yet thousands of people are happily sending their unique articles to Qassia and eagerly promoting it to other online marketers.
The secret lies in its credit system.
Qassia positions itself as a free link directory that gives you unlimited one-way backlinks to your website for free. Why do webmasters like one-way backlinks? Well, backlinks are good for two reasons: 1) for direct traffic, and 2) for better search engine ranking.
The catch is in order to achieve better ranking for your backlinks, you will have to earn credits.
The more credits you earn, the higher your website ranks in their link directory, which translates to more web traffic to you (both direct traffic and search engine traffic).
See the twist in the system? That’s why people are working hard to submit articles to Qassia.
Similar to all other successful websites, Qassia also has a referral system. It’s the same old story. The more referrals you have, the more credits you earn and the higher your website ranks.
Does this concept work?
Check out its Alexa ranking. It’s moving up superbly fast. This means the website is receiving lots of traffic.
If you do a search on Google.com by typing in site: www.qassia.com, you can see that it already has more than 4000 pages ranked in the search engines. Most of these are articles submitted by its members.
Whether this system is sustainable or not is too early to conclude. But it is set for a great start and I believe there is a great deal we can learn from this website, especially its marketing strategies.
This website is currently in closed beta and everything is kept secret to the public (I’m not sure if it’s another well-planned marketing strategy). There is no way you can signup Qassia unless you are referred by an existing member.
If you want to signup this website and see for yourself some other brilliant marketing strategies they’ve used, you can sign up through this invite-only link: http://mgmt.qassia.com/.

“It’s the training”
Would you like to make $10,000 a month in network marketing? I’m assuming your answer is “yes”. After all, who wouldn’t want to work from the comfort of home, have total time freedom, and make $10,000 a month ($120,000 per year)!
Of course, perhaps you want to earn less than $10,000 a month? If you earn $5,000 a month in network marketing, that’s the equivalent of a $60,000 a year income, which is about double what the average person earns annually in the United States. Plus, you’ll be working from the comfort of home and have total time freedom. Perhaps you want to earn more than $10,000 a month? Well, if you’ve read any of my previous ebooks and newsletters, or if you’ve heard me lecture in person, or if you’ve heard me on any one of the hundreds of teleconferences I’ve conducted, or if you’ve heard one of my many audio presentations, then you would already know that my goal as a network marketer was to earn $25,000 a month. And you would know that I achieved my goal with two different companies, and twice became my company’s #1 earner.
You would also know that I achieved my goal not because I’m super smart (I’m not!), or because I’m an extreme workaholic (I’m not), or because I was born with the “gift” of networking (I wasn’t!). As I have made known throughout all of my training materials, especially the Ultimate Success CDs training series, the reason I accomplished my goal of earning $25,000 a month in network marketing is because I was fortunate to have received competent, effective, and repetitive training, and I applied what I learned on a consistent daily basis. And I’m here to tell you that you too can achieve your goal if you receive competent, effective, and repetitive training . . . and you apply what you learn.
The fact is that the network marketing training you receive is what “makes or breaks” your business. Regardless of how much money you want to earn as a network marketer –$5,000, $10,000, or $25,000 a month – the success you achieve in network marketing is directly determined by the training you receive.
If you receive competent, effective, and repetitive training – and you apply what you learn from that training – then it’s virtually a guarantee that you will succeed in network marketing. But if you have the misfortune to receive incompetent and ineffective training (as do most network marketers), then it is virtually a guarantee that you and your downline will fail in this business regardless of how incredible your company is, or hard and how long you work, etc.
Here is your chance to receive what your looking for. Start by signing up for my free marketing tips newsletter. That’s what you need to do FIRST. Once I see you can follow “simple steps” and take action, I’ll start teaching you exactly how you can grow your business profits faster without working harder. It’s all about competent, effective, and repetitive training. That’s exactly what I deliver.
If you don’t have a business of your own yet, WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU WAITING FOR ?????
Call my office: 330.806.6274 and set up a Free ONE HOUR Brain Storming Session. Together WE’LL come up with something that will have you LOSING SLEEP AT NIGHT.

Many new marketers fail to start because they are not sure how to promote a new website.
So today I’m going to show you step by step what I normally do when I start a new website. Before listing down the step by step instructions, I need to clarify that what I’m doing is to promote 15 to 40 pages Adsense website or product review website. It can be a static site or a blog.
“Why is it important to clarify on this?” You may ask. This is because you can start many kinds of websites. Adsense or product review website is just one easy way to make ’small’ money online, but when you have 100s of these little sites, it’s more than enough to quit your job!
Other forms of website you can start include a squeeze page to build list, a mega service site like LeadsLeap, your own product site such as your own Clickbank product etc. The strategies required for these kinds of website is different from promoting Adsense or product review website.
For one, you can’t do any form of joint venture for Adsense or product review sites. You can do advertising, provided you know what you are doing. But search engine optimization is a surefire free traffic source that you can rely on and once you get such traffic, it’s going to serve you for years!
So in this article, when I say promoting a new website, I’m really talking about promoting it to get search engine traffic.
I’m not going to talk about on-page search engine optimization here. You can read it somewhere else or if you post a request below, I’ll probably discuss it in my next blog post.
Today, what I’m going to share with you is off-page optimization, which is all about building link juice to your website.
Ok, I hope by now you get the whole picture and are ready to see the simple steps that I use for all my little sites that are enough to earn me a full time income.
