Parsons’ Rules

Many of you are probably “thought provoking quote” collectors. I must confess that I am one as well. I ran across this set of Bob Parsons’ 16 Rules to Live By in one of my folders recently and really enjoyed reading them again. If you aren’t familiar with Bob Parsons, he is a very interesting character, probably best known currently as the founder of GoDaddy.com. While some of these statements may at first seem to apply to business, they are really great thoughts that apply to all of life – including your training. Read through the list and enjoy. You may even find yourself inspired to implement a few of the Rules right away.

Bob Parsons’ 16 Rules to Live By

Get and stay out of your comfort zone.
I believe that not much happens of any significance when we’re in our comfort zone. I hear people say, “But I’m concerned about security.” My response to that is simple: “Security is for cadavers.”

Never give up.

Almost nothing works the first time it’s attempted. Just because what you’re doing does not seem to be working doesn’t mean it won’t work. It just means that it might not work the way you’re doing it. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it, and you wouldn’t have an opportunity.

When you’re ready to quit, you’re closer than you think.
There’s an old Chinese saying that I just love, and I believe it is so true. It goes like this: “The temptation to quit will be greatest just before you are about to succeed.”

With regard to whatever worries you, not only accept the worst thing that could happen, but make it a point to quantify what the worst thing could be.

Very seldom will the worst consequence be anywhere near as bad as a cloud of “undefined consequences.” My father would tell me early on, when I was struggling and losing my shirt trying to get Parsons Technology going, “Well, Robert, if it doesn’t work, they can’t eat you.”

Focus on what you want to have happen.
Remember that old saying, “As you think, so shall you be.”

Take things a day at a time.
No matter how difficult your situation is, you can get through it if you don’t look too far into the future and focus on the present moment. You can get through anything one day at a time.

Always be moving forward.
Never stop investing. Never stop improving. Never stop doing something new. The moment you stop improving your organization, it starts to die. Make it your goal to be better each and every day, in some small way. Remember the Japanese concept of Kaizen. Small daily improvements eventually result in huge advantages.

Be quick to decide.
Remember what General George S. Patton said: “A good plan violently executed today is far and away better than a perfect plan tomorrow.”

Measure everything of significance.
I swear this is true. Anything that is measured and watched improves.

Anything that is not managed will deteriorate.
If you want to uncover problems you don’t know about, take a few moments and look closely at the areas you haven’t examined for a while. I guarantee you problems will be there.

Pay attention to your competitors, but pay more attention to what you’re doing.
When you look at your competitors, remember that everything looks perfect at a distance. Even the planet Earth, if you get far enough into space, looks like a peaceful place.

Never let anybody push you around.
In our society, with our laws and even playing field, you have just as much right to what you’re doing as anyone else, provided that what you’re doing is legal.

Never expect life to be fair.
Life isn’t fair. You make your own breaks. You’ll be doing good if the only meaning fair has to you is something that you pay when you get on a bus (i.e., fare).

Solve your own problems.
You’ll find that by coming up with your own solutions, you’ll develop a competitive edge. Masura Ibuka, the cofounder of Sony, said it best: “You never succeed in technology, business, or anything by following the others.” There’s also an old Asian saying that I remind myself of frequently. It goes like this: “A wise man keeps his own counsel.”

Don’t take yourself too seriously.
Lighten up. Often, at least half of what we accomplish is due to luck. None of us are in control as much as we like to think we are.

There’s always a reason to smile. Find it.
After all, you’re really lucky just to be alive. Life is short. More and more, I agree with my little brother. He always reminds me: “We’re not here for a long time; we’re here for a good time.”

This is the same formula I will be using for my new product that expands many markets.

Choose a popular software product within your market or niche.

This has to be something that people search on by name.

Get some ideas of this software by downloading the trial version. Most products carry a trial version.

Create your own version using TSB Express or Pro. It doesn’t have to be better or have more functionality.

Setup a adwords account, msn or yahoo. You will be bidding on the name of the competitor software. You can use many different transitions of the name based on your keyword research. A lot of times, people will search for the software name and a particular year.

Have your PPC links go to a review page that will show the product that is already popular in the market and your product. I would also use screen shots. More than likely, your software will look better and easier than the competition. This is from my experience.

If the popular software has a affiliate program than sign up and use that in your review page just in case the person still purchased that program.

You can then expand your keywords to include the content network and so on…

Now, by using the keyword of the competitive software, you will be getting a majority of buyers. These are people that are searching for a specific product. This is a goldmine waiting for you to tap into it.

Don’t be afraid of large niches. Even a little traffic from them will bring in massive amounts of sales.

There are so many markets and software programs that you can do with this that you should be making hundreds of thousands if not more. I was showing my wife my plans for marketing this new product of mine and she got really excited. She doesn’t know anything about marketing but still understood the power behind this technique.

Enjoy,

If you’re interested in selling eBooks or other “Information Products” online, then here are a few tips to make sure you make the most money:

1) Choose a niche where customers have a VERY strong EMOTIONAL NEED.

Why do most eBooks and other Information Products fail – and leave the author with nothing to show for their effort but wasted time?

Because they selected their niche or their topic based on what they themselves were INTERESTED in rather than what people were LOOKING FOR.

If you want to make money with your eBook or other Information Product, then you must choose a niche that is loaded with buyers who are EMOTIONAL about their need.

Not just “interested.”

EMOTIONAL.

If they’re not feeling a strong emotional drive to solve a problem or get their desire, then they won’t be motivated to BUY from you.

2) NARROW your niche – don’t “widen” your niche.

Another reason why most eBooks and Information Products fail is because the author or creator wasn’t thinking like a CUSTOMER.

Customers don’t like to buy things that will fix all their problems.

They like to buy things that will fix their ONE BIG problem.

If you’ve got sharp back pain, and you want to buy a book about how to fix it… would you buy a book called “All About Health”…?

NO WAY.

You’d buy a book that’s SPECIFICALLY about how to fix back pain.

If you want to learn how to build your own website for your business… do you go to the bookstore and buy a book called “Everything About The Internet And Computers”?

NO WAY.

Most of the time in life, it’s not wise to be “Narrow Minded.” When you’re choosing your niche or creating a product, IT IS.

3) Create a high “Perceived value” report or video – and then GIVE IT AWAY.

As the internet becomes more and more “noisy” – and customers have more and more options… and therefore more and more confusion…

…it’s important to CUT THROUGH THAT NOISE.

The best way to do it?

Create something valuable, then GIVE IT AWAY.

Yes, I said give it away.

And don’t just give away any old information.

No. You’re going to want to create a report, video, teleclass, or other product – and make it about your BEST STUFF.

Don’t save your “good stuff” for last. Give it away up front!

When your prospective customer comes to your website and gets something that’s very, VERY valuable from you for free – they will then say to themselves…

“If this is the stuff they’re giving away, then the product they’re selling must be GREAT.”

That’s why you give away your BEST stuff for free up front (and make sure you ask your prospective customers to opt-in to your email list in order to get your free product!).

Enjoy !

I’ll start with the essentials……

First, you need a market to sell to. Not having one is like trying to set up a business in a ghost town. You might get some customers, but they won’t come around much!

Second, you need a product to sell. That could be your own product, or it could be somebody else’s product you promote for a commission (called an affiliate product). This is what will put money in your pocket.

Third, you’ll need a domain. I suggest starting with a “.com” address, because it looks much more professional. And pick a domain that’s your own name,
if it’s available. That will give you a foundation to build on, no matter what direction you want to go, and will let you build your personal brand.

Fourth, you need a website. It just makes things so much easier if you have a site that you control and can change however you want.

Fifth, you need an autoresponder. This lets you build a mailing list and keep in contact with the people on it. That’s where your long-term income will come from.  I recommend Get Response. And once you have your autoresponder set up, check out Email Promos Exposed to learn how to
write promotional emails that convert like crazy.

Sixth, you should consider setting up a blog at a separate site. This is a great way to keep your content fresh, which will get you more free traffic from search engines. And linking to your main site from your blog can help your search engine rank for your main site as well.  I recommend Wordpress or
Blogger.

Seventh, you’ll need a payment processor, which is a way to take credit card payments online. I strongly recommend ClickBank, because they’re reliable and secure. They’ll also give you a built-in affiliate program, and they’ll handle paying your affiliates for you.

That’s literally all you need. There are other things that you CAN have, but those are the essentials.

Even the “Average Joe” can do this…..

The way to get started is to find a market that needs a product you can offer at a profit. That’s as fancy  as it gets.

You can offer a physical product or a digital one. To keep things simple and low-cost, I suggest starting with a digital product, meaning one that people can buy and download immediately.

Here’s where I might shock a few readers…

Your first product can be VERY simple. You might write a brief report called something like “10 List Building Tips If You’re Starting From Zero!”

The point is, find a market, find what they want to know, then offer it to them. What most people just starting out overlook is that most of the information
is available for free online.

Use Google to research your topic. Visit sites like EzineArticles.com to get ideas. Track down sites that already exist and see what information they offer for free. Then you can create a relatively short report that saves people the trouble of doing the research on their own.

You can hire somebody to write your report, or you can summarize existing material in your own words. About 10-15 pages should do it.

Once you have your report, you can sell it for a low price, maybe something like $7. Most people will be willing to part with that kind of money, since it’s
almost as much as they spend on coffee or sodas in a typical day.

The next trick is to drive some traffic to your website where you sell your report. The easiest free way to do that is to write an article and get it
accepted at EzineArticles.com. Target a keyword that gets okay traffic, but doesn’t have a lot competition.

I’ve never run across ANYONE who couldn’t use that approach to get started. There’s no guarantee you’ll succeed, but it’s a quick process you can keep
hammering on until you find a winner.

Here are some niches that have been popular (and profitable) for years:

- Personal development stuff, like boosting your self esteem

- Relationship topics, like improving your dating life or marriage

- Debt or credit-related topics, especially with the economy doing so bad

- Health topics, like curing acne or fixing back pain

The list could go on. All you have to do is find a niche that’s not as cutthroat as Internet marketing. Odds are good that people in those other niches are
even more eager buyers than in the Internet Marketing space.

The challenge is standing out from the crowd, so here are
a few simple ideas:

- Talk about a NEW topic. If there’s a new social networking site out there, for example, write a report about how to use it. New information sells great.

- Present your product in a unique way. That could be doing videos when everybody else does ebooks, for example, or offering overwhelming value that nobody else does.

- Offer help to buyers. Lots of people sell Internet Marketing products and then abandon buyers to figure everything out. Simply offering email support for a small fee and a limited time can make you stand out.

- Offer stuff that works. Not so hard, right? The market is full of junk that makes money but doesn’t live up to its promises.

And one more piece of advice for standing out…social proof counts most of all. So give your product away to some limited number of people and ask them for honest feedback. That will help your sales presentation be more genuine and more likely to sell.

As far as building a website or blog… I can understand when anybody says they’re a bit afraid of the technology of online business. But there’s really nothing to be afraid of.

The first thing to keep in mind is that your website can and should be very simple. You’ll need a page to present your product, a way for people to buy, and a page to deliver the product. That’s it. Three pages can do the job just fine.  Want a very inexpensive solution…Visit WEBDESIGN.

You might want more than that, but that’s fine to start with.

The second thing to keep in mind is that you need to find a good tutorial about how to build simple sites. Frankly, I thought there wasn’t a really good one out there, so I created my own:  MiniSite Profits

It doesn’t cost a dime, so feel free to sign up for your copy and put it use. The video course walks you through everything you need to know to set up your own mini-site, which is a simple site to sell a single product.

Give it a shot..  When all this works, you’ll be on top of the world.. Being self sufficient is a great feeling.

Compliments of Michael Rasmussan and Self Equity Solutions..

This is a post to show you the fastest way to get top 10 in the search engines for your own website. This method always work, especially for keywords with low competition. But there are some factors you need to consider before using it.

Ok, here is the method in summary:

Simply use the keywords that you want to rank for as the domain name of your website.

For example, if you want to get top 10 rank for “migraine headache relief”, you can name your website as one of the followings:

migraineheadacherelief (.com, .net or .org)
migraine-headache-relief (.com, .net or .org)

If those domain names are not available, you can add a prefix or suffix such as my, site, guide etc. For example,

mymigraineheadacherelief.com
migraineheadachereliefsite.com
migraineheadachereliefguide.com

The idea is to include the keywords in your domain name.

Before using this strategy, there are some issues you should consider:

1) It’s not a loophole

This method works for competitive keywords. If you don’t believe, search for ‘acne’ and see which website ranks top.

Usually, I don’t hang up on most internet marketers / telemarketers, but occassionally I have (as politely I could) got off the phone based on obvious reasons. You see, I get phone calls just like everyone else. The difference is that some of the people that call me end up getting a FREE Marketing lesson in return. Is this a secret of mine, I doubt it!  I’d have to imagine that most successful internet marketers do the same thing.

The hottest thing around seems to be either marketing software or voice broadcasting software.  I’ve been contacted by associates from both and personally I’m not at all interested in either. Why they’re calling me is a mystery. I already use my own successful marketing tools and I’m really not that excited about broadcasting software. I have to admit, I do hang up on broadcasting software nearly every singe time.

First things first, Marketing Software! If you’re selling marketing software to other network marketers, you should at least be using the software yourself. My advise, if this is a big ticket item or costs more than $400.00 you should consider changing the strategies your being taught by your upline.

Contact me for details.  I can help you !

Now to the bigger mess! If you are selling a voice broadcasting system and your marketing other network marketers, YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO CALL ME OR PURCHASE THIS GUIDE. I recommend not calling me while using your broadcasting system because, I’ll probably hang up on you. Don’t get me wrong, I think this is a necessary tool for those involved in school functions, church functions, medical, dental, and sports. But the reality is, most people trying to sell this type of system is involved in business and their being taught to say the wrong things. In order to sell this system you have to know exactly what to say in order to keep the prospect on the phone long enough to follow your instructions.

Let me tell you this, if you are marketing this type of software, PLEASE THROW OUT THE SCRIPTS YOUR UPLINE IS GIVING YOU. YOU ARE GOING TO FAIL VERY FAST. I believe you can succeed with this type of product / service but you need help. The kind of help your upline isn’t going to tell you.

Contact me using this  Leave me your phone number and do yourself this favor.

Until then, your luck will be below average.

In this article, I’m going to share with you 3 proven ways to make money on the internet and 1 proven way to lose money online.

Sounds interesting? It will be more interesting as you read.

I am going to approach this topic from a totally different angle, as I always do. If you find this article confusing, just keep reading. You will get a clearer picture when I put everything together.

Ok, let’s start with the first proven way……

Proven Way #1 – The easiest way to make money on the internet

Do you want to know what is the easiest way to make money online?

It’s to exchange your time for money.  In other words, you make money by trading your time.

For example, you can sign up as a freelancer at elance.com and provide freelancing job to people who need your service. You can also sign up with surveying firms to get paid doing market surveys, or become a mystery shopper to help companies to do market research. If you are good in graphic design, you can also start your own online design company to provide graphic design services.

Trading your time for money is the most basic way to make money. It is also the easiest way to start making money. That’s why most people start with a ‘job’ when they are newly out from school. I hope you can see that a job is just another way to trade time for money.

There is nothing wrong to trade your time for money. In fact, if you are pressed for cash, providing online services, such as freelance services, is probably the best option to start.

Proven Way #2 – The toughest way to make money on the internet

Have you come across a website called Legit Online Jobs? It is a scam or it’s for real?

Before I continue, I need to tell you that this is not a review site trying to lure you into reading this page and then convince you to buy Legit Online Jobs. Let me be frank. I won’t buy this product if I were you. I’m just using this product for discussion purpose.

How to identify online scams?

In the past, it was pretty easy to identify scams. Scammers usually use beautiful stock photos for their testimonials. Their graphic editing skills are so poor that it is obvious that the earning proofs are doctored.

However, today’s scammers are smarter and they can produce fake testimonials and fake earnings like real!

The only way to decide whether a product is a scam is by studying its business model.

Below are some online business models typically used by scammers (or I should say opportunists).

1) Ponzi scheme

A Ponzi scheme usually takes money from you and promises that you will earn more later. The extra money paid to you usually comes from the subsequent members who join the scheme. This means new members are supporting old members.

For example, if a company promises that you will earn $500 every month and you only have to invest $10,000 one time, it’s obviously a scam.

Such a business model is not sustainable and the company will soon run out of cash. Yet, many people choose to believe in such a model.

Nowadays, there are many different forms of Ponzi scheme, from HYIP to paid autosurf programs.

Basically, when joining such programs, you have to ask yourself whether the business model is sustainable. If you can’t think of a logical reason why the business is sustainable, chances are it’s a scam.
